There was pandemonium on Tuesday morning in Benin, Edo State, after a policeman killed a commercial driver set to wed next week Saturday over N100.
Aggrieved passersby set ablaze about 5 police vehicles.
The incident happened along Muritala Mohammed Way in Benin.
It was gathered that as the argument went on, the police officer pushed the driver into the path of an oncoming truck which smashed his head and splattered his brains.
According to the deceased fiancee, trouble started over the refusal of her fiancé to give the said policeman, N100, after their bus was stopped.
An eye witness said she told sympathizers that the police demanded for money and the deceased offered N100 but the policemen insisted that it must be N200.
The deceased driver was said to have fixed his wedding for next week Saturday.
