Femi Otedola, chairman of Forte Oil, has endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state.

Otedola made his endorsement known via a post on his Instagram handle on Saturday.

He shared posted a picture of himself and Sanwo-Olu, whom he described as as “my childhood friend”.

According to the post, both men had dinner at the residence of the billionaire oil magnate on Friday evening.

“Dinner at my residence yesterday evening, with my childhood friend APC Governorship Candidate @JideSanwoOlu. GOVERNOR IN WAITING!,” Otedola captioned the picture.

In May, there were rumours that the billionaire businessman was eyeing the governorship position in Lagos. The rumours had began after he shared videos of himself taking Molue from Sango i Ogun state to Agege in Lagos.

But he swiftly denied, saying he took the ride to share in the experience of the common man.

He also trended on Instagram in April after he posted a video of him on a bus in London “to see my old teacher at Wandsworth”.

An indigene of Epe, Otedola’s late father was governor of Lagos between 1992 and 1993.
