The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, Sheikh Ibrahim Elzakzaky and wife have travelled out of Nigeria to India onboard Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER Flight EK786 on Monday at exactly 6:29pm.
Also on the entourage of the Shi’ite leader are his wife, Zeenat; son Mohammed; close family friend Zainab Hamid; family doctor Ramatu Abubakar; two SSS officials and; a police doctor.
The National Intelligence Agency, NIA and State Security Service, SSS, who had been working behind the scene to resolve the impasse occasioned by the detention of Shiite leader have advised the presidency on the appropriateness of obeying the court orders since some foreign interests including the Iranian government have sought a diplomatic approach in managing the issue.
Speaking to PRNigeria on the latest development, a human rights activist and lawyer to Sheikh Zakzaky, Femi Falana (SAN) said the government disregard the so-called stringent conditions of the Kaduna State government before the Shiite leader and his wife could embark on the medical trip abroad.
Mr Falana said the condition stipulated by Kaduna State is totally alien to the penal code and the administration of criminal justice law because the agreement is not brought under any substantive or adjectival law and an agreement cannot vary or modify the order of a competent court.
The lawyer said that since the secret service which had the custody of the El-Zakzakys, had announced on behalf of the Federal Government that the court order would be obeyed, the so-called terms of “agreements” of the Kaduna State government under Governor Elrufai should be ignored because it is the height of provocative contempt.

Six long weeks have so far gone in the Big Brother house with Biggie twisting the game everyday to the excitement of its viewers.
The sixth week in the house was sort of relaxing at the house because Big Brother decided that there was going to be no evictions. So we guess you guys would be wondering why the live eviction show still held. Well, it has always been customary for live eviction shows to hold every Sunday even if no one gets to go home.
For those who attended the live eviction show, it was an opportunity to party since it was a holiday. The venue for the live eviction was packed full with beautiful ladies and handsome guys who all came out to turn up and support the most watch reality TV show in Nigeria. So guys, here are interesting things that happened at the live eviction show that you should know.
Ebuka and his agbada
Take it or leave it, Ebuka will continue to bring out the hot sauce out of himself every Sunday at the live eviction show. We actually think he is the original ‘Pepper Dem‘ guy because the moment he climbs on stage, we already know what to expect…looking dapper like a million bucks. This Sunday wasn’t any different as he came out looking perfect for the job with a not so unique Agbada but with a style, your favourite fashion designer might have sleepless nights putting together.
Three isn’t actually a crowd
For the first time in the history of the Big Brother live eviction Sunday, it had not just one but three big artists perform on its stage. The audience got what they didn’t bargain for as they were entertained by the guys toping the chats at the moment, FireBoy, JoeBoy, and Victor AD.
The federal government of Nigeria has threatened to deal with Tekno over the release of his controversial music video.
The Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Segun Runsewe said they were queried by Nigerians at home and in the diaspora after a clip of the semi-naked women went viral.
“We commend the police for arresting Tekno for the shameful misconduct. The same person, who was granted bail on health grounds has gone ahead to release the controversial video. We are now warning him to desist from this shameful conduct, which is not part of our culture. No single person is bigger than Nigeria; whether he likes it or not, we are going to use him as a scapegoat to send strong signals that this government does not tolerate nonsense and immorality, but discipline, which is our moral principle. Since the offensive, Tekno scam video came to the limelight.
“I have received hundreds of telephone calls and SMS from Nigerians at home and others in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and other parts of the world querying why such anomalies would be tolerated in Nigeria. Now that he has released the shameful video when investigation is still ongoing, we are going to inform security agencies to place him on their watch list, because his action is a threat to national security and a bad influence on Nigerian youths. We are committed to exposing proponents of this kind of offensive sights and videos. We warn that nudity is not part of our culture and should not be tolerated. The Federal Government will henceforth fish out clubs for nude dancers across the country for their promoters to face prosecution,” he said.
It would be recalled that Tekno was released on administration bail a few days ago on health grounds over the naked women video which caused an uproar after he had been invited by the police for questioning.
The music star who had reported to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department alongside the women embroiled in the transparent truck incident was said to have been allowed to go because of his poor health.
According to reports, Tekno and the ladies involved in the naked video were all grilled for hours by men of the Nigeria Police Force. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) SCIID, Mrs. Yetunde Longe, told newsmen that the singer could not be detained because of his health condition.
Table tennis queen, Funke Oshonaike, has decided to come out clean over her failed marriage after her husband, Kevin Irabor, decided to get married to another woman despite still being married to the Olympian.
Reacting to a Facebook post by Irabor where he displayed the pictures of his marriage with the new woman, Oshonaike said she had kept quiet for too long and now was the best time to come out and talk.
According to Oshonaike, who is currently in the country for the ITTF Nigeria Open, she already begged her husband not to resort to the social media – advice he clearly chose to ignore.
“I begged Kevin not to humiliate himself, me and my kids on social media, but he still believes he’s a macho man and he can eat his cake and have it,” she said.
“This shows so much disrespect to me and my kids, after he (Kevin) abused me for so many years and neglected my children, even though you’re still married to me in Germany. Now you still have the guts to humiliate me and my kids like this?
“I think it’s high time to show the other side of me, good riddance to bad rubbish. I went through a lot in the name of marriage but thank God I’m still alive today.
“Congratulations Kevin Irabor but let it start now, thank God, I don’t do this but I’m not a fool to be toyed with, Respect to all the good men and good fathers out there.”
It would be recalled that the Germany-based ping ponger has been facing marital crisis for a while although she decided to keep it out of the public domain.
Her marriage with Kevin Irabor produced two kids (both boys).
Immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, and first executive governor of Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has said no one can trace the cause of the feud between Governor Godwin Obaseki and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomole.
In an interview with journalists concerning his birthday in his home in Benin, Oyegun regretted that the feud had defied all prescriptions.
“All of us are dancing round the crisis, but we do not know what started the conflict between two friends.
“But for me, I listen to the people who said he is performing. Please, let him continue if the people feel he is doing well.
“Quite frankly, what is going on is ridiculous. We are beyond this kind. I am ashamed. Our people have contributed so much to the stability of the State.
“It is unfortunate that Edo State has been in the news for the very wrong reasons, apart from abusing ourselves, you (media) owe the nation a great commitment towards making sure that the truth prevail,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Governor, Obaseki, has congratulated Odigie-Oyegun, on his 80th birthday.
In a statement, Obaseki said, “On behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, I wish to felicitate with you our beloved and distinguished leader, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the first civilian governor of our great state, the first National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, and the first opposition party chairman to defeat an incumbent party in a general election.”
“Your 80th Birthday anniversary celebration affords us the opportunity to celebrate your sterling achievements, especially as a true political leader who speaks truth to power when it matters most.”
