The apex umbrella Yoruba Group: Igbimo Apapo Yoruba Lagbaye laconically condemns in its entirety the recent trending video displaying mass killings of cows and destruction of lives and properties belonging to some Fulani herdsmen domiciled in the Southeastern zone of Nigeria, led by some members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
In view of the widespread infractions committed by Fulani herdsmen and bandit’s criminal atrocities ranging from violence killing, rapes, kidnapping and Community invasion attacks in several parts of the country, consequently this does not warrant the unguarded mass killings of animals and provocative utterance from the members of ESN whose motives is totally different from the Yoruba call led by Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho and other prominent Yoruba leaders for the sack of indicted Fulani herdsmen occupying some parts of Igangan, Ibarapa and other dungeons occupied for kidnapping and other ancillary criminalities in Yoruba Land.
We reiterate our stance for an egalitarian society devoid of evils, precipitating our clarion call for an emergency National Security Dialogue on the porous state of insecurity in the country.
This will enable all the critical stakeholders from the six geo political zones to cross fertilise ideas on the issues bordering on insecurity and peace building, involving all service chiefs, Governors and other critical leaders of thoughts.
We have emphatically spoken.
Signed:
Aare Barr Oladotun Hassan,
Global President.
Akowe Oodua Siyanbade Adekanbi, Secretary General.
