In a strategic move to advance the Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance, Nigeria is set to host a workshop at the prestigious 17th Edition of the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV).
The Federal Government is calling for the submission of research papers, inviting interested researchers to contribute to the theme “Designing and Implementing Scalable and Inclusive Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in African Context.”
The workshop, aimed at supporting DPI’s effective design and implementation, encourages submissions in various tracks, including Trust and Ethical Digital Governance, Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Public Sector, Future-ready Digital Workforce and Infrastructure Development, Public and Private Sector Governing Digital Economies, and a special focus on Digital Transformation in the Global South.
For the top three selected DPI-tailored papers, the main authors will receive sponsorship to participate in the Special Workshop.
Researchers are urged to submit their papers by the deadline of April 21, 2024, with acceptance notifications from ICEGOV expected by July 10, 2024, and winners announced on July 15, 2024.
Participating in ICEGOV2024 offers a unique opportunity for Nigeria to deepen its global research standing in key technology areas, provide diverse perspectives on digital governance, strengthen leadership in digital governance research in the Global South, and enhance the country’s position in the global digital community.
The conference, organized by the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV) in collaboration with UNESCO, will take place in Pretoria, South Africa, from October 1 to 4, 2024, at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
With the overarching theme of “Trust and Ethical Digital Governance for the World We Want,” ICEGOV2024 aims to serve as a platform for Nigeria to showcase well-researched, world-class papers from academia, industry, and the government, further solidifying its presence in the realm of digital governance.
