British boxer, Anthony Joshua has suffered a motor accident while travelling along Makun in Ogun state.
The incident was said to have taken place on a heavily trafficked section of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, where the vehicle carrying the boxer was involved in a collision with another car.
An eyewitness revealed that Joshua suffered only minor injuries, while two individuals were reportedly confirmed dead at the scene.
The 36-year-old heavyweight, who recently defeated Jake Paul in a boxing match, has family roots in Sagamu, a town in Ogun State.
The crash has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with fans and supporters voicing concern about the boxer’s wellbeing.
Authorities have now told reporters that Joshua has been taken to hospital alongside other injured people.
Police commissioner Lanre Ogunlowo says an investigation into the accident has been ordered. The police also said they are heading to the hospital to confirm the casualties involved in the accident.
Meanwhile, hours before the crash, Joshua posted a video to his Instagram of him playing table tennis with another man.
