Foremost businessman and former Abia State governor, Dr. Orji Kalu has commiserated with the government and people of Sierra Leone over mudslide and flood which claimed hundreds of lives on the outskirts of Freetown, the nation’s capital a few days ago.
According to Kalu, who is also the Chief Promoter of First International Bank (FIB) and International Insurance Company (ICC) in Sierra Leone, described the ugly incident as shocking and devastating.
In a message to President Ernest Koroma, Kalu said “I am sad over the disaster that claimed scores of lives and displaced thousands of people in Regent area after heavy flooding and mudslide triggered by downpours.
“It is indeed a big loss not only to Sierra Leoneans but Africans in general.
“Our hearts, prayers and thoughts are with the bereaved families and loved ones in this sorrowful period.
“We pray that God Almighty will comfort the families of the deceased and give them the fortitude to bear the sad losses.”
