There are have been crisis in the Buhari’s media center in Abuja over several months of unpaid salary to its members, we learnt in an exclusive report.
One of the agitated member of the center who wants name not to be mentioned said, members of the center have not been paid for the past 5 months, that the delay in payment is affecting their job drastically.
Went further to disclose that, they were told that the money has been paid by the financier (Name Withheld) but yet to be paid to them by the manager of the center, stating further that top members earns about N200,000 a month while middle level members earns N125,000 and members in offshoot locations across the country earns N50,000 a month.
Buhari media center (BMC) comprises of reporters from media houses, TV personalities, Radio OAPs, Social media influencers, bloggers, article writers, TV/Radio call in personalities amongst others.
It was further learnt that majority of their members were recruited by head hunting from social media or through referrals, that any social media user who frequently supports Buhari with reasonable number of social media followers are contacted to be recruited into the BMC.
According to another source, after payment of backlog salaries, there is an underground plan to massively recruit more members into BMC from all states across the country, the decision was reportedly taken after a report was presented to one of the senior presidential spokesman that Buhari’s popularity on social media is dwindling.
They also complained that a group called Wailing Wailers are not making the job easy for them therefore will need more hands to do the job on social media.
They argued that Nigerians are bashing President Buhari on social media over his re-election bid in 2019, that more social media warriors must be recruited, for example, the newly signed member Mr Aye Dee who recently took a “U Turn” to join the BMC.
A separate report indicates that the top level members of the BMC are saddled with the task of facing top critics like Ben Bruce, Dino Melaye, Shehu Sani, Gov Ayo Fayose and others.
A spokesman for the Wailing Wailers Mr Ibrahim confirmed that his group and other pro Nigerian people are battle ready to shame the BMC members and ensure they do not control the narrative no matter their numbers on social media.
