Funke Akindele, actor-filmmaker, has welcomed a set of twins with her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, a singer/producer better known as JJC Skillz.
Akindele, star of hit TV series ‘Jenifa’s Diary’, reportedly gave birth in the US.
Prior to the news of the delivery, the entertainer had been off social media, with the frequency of her posting declining in recent weeks.
Her colleague, Mercy Aigbe, confirmed the arrival of the twins on Instagram on Saturday.
Aigbe described it as the “best news of the year” while congratulating Akindele and JJC Skillz.
She wrote: “Jehovah Overdo!…. Twins. To God be all the Glory. Congrats @funkejenifaakindele and @jjcskillz on the arrival of your twins. Iya Ibeji mo ba e yo @funkejenifaakindele.”
In the same vein, the news was confirmed by Toke Makinwa, an OAP/media entrepreneur.
Makinwa wrote: “My heart is full, so happy for my people. Congrats on the arrival of our twins
“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
“Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. … Love you both. Iya ibeji.”
Although her husband has children from past relationships, it is the first child for Akindele, who has been married before.
The actress who became famous for her role in television series ‘I Need to Know’ married JJC Skillz in London in 2016.
Before then, Akindele was formerly married to Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede; the marriage was dissolved after a year due to what she described as “irreconcilable differences”.
The actress, known to keep her affairs private, once said it is more beneficial “to keep matters of the heart close to the heart”.
