LAUTECH ODL Matriculates One Thousand Two Hundred And Forty-Five

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, has matriculated one thousand and two hundred and forty-five (1,245)  fresh students into the four programmes in its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Centre.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Michael Ologunde,  said he was elated to inform people at the occasion that the programme has continued to grow in leaps and bounds since it was licensed to offer just Computer Science fo now that the Centre has been approved to run four courses.
Other Courses for which the National Universities Commission already gave nod for LAUTECH ODL to run includes BN-Sc. (Nursing), B.Sc. Accounting and B. Sc Marketing.
According to him, the ODL method has remained the best mode for flexible tailor made delivery of instruction with little or no disruption to national, family and individual circumstances, while also taking advantages of emerging Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Explaining that the LAUTECH ODL now has students from different countries such as Canada, United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Ghana and Saudi Arabia, who participate in Online facilitation and examinations through technologically driven means using the same academic calendar as those in the programme in Nigeria, the Vice-Chancellor hinted of a robust partnership between the Centre and the University of London.
He added that the foreign collaboration and enrolment will encourage more students who are desirous of the opportunity provided by the programmeas well as enhance the rating of LAUTECH both within and outside the country.
