The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance has sentenced a man to prison and fined him for abusing drugs, dragging his sons into drug abuse, negligence of his children and assaulting his daughter.
According to documents presented to court, the GCC national is a divorcee.
He took the custody of his three sons from his wife after divorce, while the other children are with the wife.
His addiction has led to negligence of the children living with him and even support for the ones living with the wife.
Due to his negligence, his sons dropped out of school and started using drugs alongside him.
The police arrested him when the mother of the children filed a complaint against him.
The man has been charged with possession and consumption of drugs, failing at taking care of his children and putting the lives of his sons in danger by using psychotropic substances.
The three sons that live with him were charged with drug usage.
The father alongside one of his sons have been charged with drug possession and assaulting the man’s four-year old daughter.
