…Gov Abiodun, Alaafin, Kessington to attend
Telecoms firm and sponsor of the annual Ojude Oba Festival of the Ijebu people, Globacom, will give out mouth-watering prizes including ten tricycles, in the 2019 edition of the Festival raffle. The star-prize, the tricycles, have been mounted on a dais outside the Awujale’s palace where residents have been trooping to catch glimpses of the largesse, hoping to be proud winners of the vehicles for transportation business.
The raffle is open to all customers who make purchases from any Gloworld shop in Ijebu Ode or Ago Iwoye, from the middle of July 2019 to the day of the festival. During this period, each shopper will be given a raffle ticket which qualifies him or her to win the star prize or any of the ten LED television sets also available for customers. The winners will be drawn during the main event in August.
Throwing light on the raffle and other features of this year’s Ojude Oba Festival, Globacom’s Regional Manager Activation, in charge of Lagos and Ogun, Mr. Olufolahan Faseyitan disclosed at a World Press Conference at the Awujale’s Palace in Ijebu Ode that Fuji crooner Abass Obesere, Pop sensation Lil Kesh famous for hits like ‘Shoki’, ‘Able God’ and ‘Flenjo’ will perform at the music concert. Similarly, resourceful comedian MC Bash will entertain guests at the all-night show where the 2019 Miss Ojude Oba will be crowned.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the 2019 Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Chief Wahab Osinusi announced that Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will be the Guest of Honour . The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi will be the Royal Father of the day while business mogul, Chief Kessington Adebutu is expected to be the Special Guest.
Dosunmu commended Globacom for supportingFestival year in year out for over a decade now. According to him, this year’s theme, “Ojude Oba: The Uniqueness of the Ijebu Nation”, speaks to the objective of taking stock and boosting trade and commerce.
Fielding questions later, the Coordinator, 2019 Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Chief Fassy Yusuf also commended Globacom for its forte of empowerment which he said was a veritable means of wealth redistribution and social enterprise.
