Team Nigeria today won three medals at the ongoing 12th Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco.
As the Taekwondo team win 1 gold and 2 bronze Medals in the Taekwondo event.
Chinazum Nwosu in the 53kg of the women category won gold, while Sunday Onofe in the Male -87kg and Benjamin Okomusu in the +87kg won bronze Medals.
Meanwhile the 3×3 basketball event also dunks-off with positively results from both the male and women squad winning their respective matches.
The men team defeated Republic of Congo by 21 to 14 points.
They also defeated Niger Republic by 21 baskets to 10 basket, while the women team beat their Gambia counterpart by 21-6 baskets.
Mustapha oyebamji, the team’s guard expressed happiness over the victory, but caution that the tournament has just begun and they need to keep the heads and remain focus.
He stated that their mission is to do the country proud, hence they have to remain focus.
“Having win our first matches, I feel very Happy for the victory, but the matches had just started and we still have two matches to play to sure of advancing to the next stage, so is important to remain focus and concentrate,” Oyebamji noted.
