The 2019/20 Premier League continues with the 20th round of matches this coming weekend, 28-29 December 2019, with SuperSport viewers on DStv and GOtv set to be treated to some of the best football action in the world.

Fresh from the ‘Boxing Day’ round of matches, the Premier League racks up the tension even further with a highly-anticipated clash between Arsenal and Chelsea on Sunday 29 December. This London derby pits together two teams struggling for consistency and identity this season, with the Gunners reeling after the departure of Unai Emery and the Blues showing promise but also major vulnerabilities under club legend Frank Lampard.

SuperSport viewers will know that matches between Arsenal and Chelsea are very often goal-laden thrillers, with neither rival willing to give an inch to the other. The Gunners will take heart from having beaten the Blues 2-0 in the teams’ last Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium (in January 2019), but it is Chelsea who hold the current bragging rights in this rivalry after crushing Arsenal 4-1 in the final of the UEFA Europa League back in May.

The jam-packed Premier League schedule for this particular weekend also includes the Sunday evening meeting of Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield.

The tactical between the Reds’ Jurgen Klopp and Wolves’ Nuno Espirito Santo will be a fascinating watch for SuperSport viewers, with the Merseyside team looking to use their pace and positional fluidity to overwhelm a supremely well-drilled and organised Wolverhampton outfit. Liverpool have won their last five Premier League matches against Wolves in succession and racking up a sixth would represent another significant step toward breaking their 30-year title drought.

Also on the card for this round of matches, Manchester United will face a tough test of their grit and character away to a battling Burnley at Turf Moor in a late kick-off on Saturday night; Leicester City will look to pile more pain on West Ham United when the teams meet at the London Stadium; and Manchester City will need to be at their best to overcome a Sheffield United team which has punched well above its weight so far in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
