Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, former Edo State governor and Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti State, on Wednesday officially join the 2023 presidential race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said this while declaring his intention to run for president of Nigeria under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 on Wednesday.
The former labour leader explained that he was born to a poor family that had very little, in a village that had no government presence, but he strived to overcome the challenges of his environment.
Oshiomhole said he left Edo State for Kaduna to work in a garment factory, from where he became a union leader and grew gradually to become president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).
He noted that he is well equipped to rule Nigeria, while promising to return the country to its glory days, promising to grow the economy and create jobs for the youths.
The former governor noted that he was not out to lament about the state of the country, but to proffer solutions to its challenges.
Oshiomhole appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari, who he said is a man of integrity who has fought corruption to a standstill.
Meanwhile, Fayemi declared his intention to run for the highest office in the land at a ceremony attended by Ibikunle Amosun, former Ogun State governor, among others, in Abuja.
He promised to ensure youth empowerment when he becomes the president.
On electricity, Fayemi said it was time to get rid of national grid.
He argued that the national grid is broken.
