With the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Mahmoud Yakubu proceeding on terminal leave, a National Commissioner at the commission, May Agbamuche-Mbu, has assumed duties as the Acting Chairman of the Commission.
Prof Yakubu has formally handed over duties following a directive by President Bola Tinubu for him to proceed on the terminal leave.
The announcement was made on Tuesday at the INEC headquarters in Abuja during a stakeholders’ meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs).
