The Black Stars of Ghana have clinched their spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Comoros in Kumasi.

Mohammed Kudus emerged as the match-winner, scoring the decisive goal early in the second half.

After a tense and goalless first half, Ghana returned from the break with greater urgency. Just three minutes into the second period, Thomas Partey threaded a smart pass to Kudus, who controlled it neatly before firing a powerful right-footed shot into the top corner.

Comoros put up a spirited fight and worked hard to keep the scoreline close, but they posed little threat to Ghana’s defence.

The Black Stars managed the remainder of the match effectively to seal a vital three points.

With this result, Ghana became the fifth African nation to qualify for next year’s World Cup, joining Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
