The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, has approved the immediate dissolution of the State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB).
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Minna.
He said the dissolution was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition and strengthen the education sector for greater efficiency, accountability and improved service delivery in the state.
The governor, according to the SSG, also directed all members of the dissolved board, including the secretary, to hand over all official documents, assets and responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
He thanked the outgoing board members and the secretary for their service and contributions to the development of basic education in the state.
