The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike, and other key members of the party for anti-party activities.
Also expelled were the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and the National Legal Adviser, Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN).
The rest are – Umar Bature, AbdulRahman Mohammed, Mao Chuambuwa, George Turner, Austin Nwachukwu, Abraham Ammah, and the party’s chairman in Edo State, Dan Orbih.
The motion for the expulsion of the affected members was taken at the party’s National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The motion was moved by PDP’s former Deputy National Chairman, South, Chief Bode George, and seconded by the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohamed.
Wike and Fayose have been on the PDP chopping block since 2023, when they worked against the party in that year’s election.
They also worked against the conduct of the convention, in connivance with other aggrieved members of the party.
