The Zamfara State Government, through the Zakkat and Endowment Board, has finalized plans to sponsor the marriages of 200 orphans in the state.
The Board’s Executive Secretary, Malam Habibu Balarabe, told reporters in Gusau that the event will take place on Monday, November 23, 2025, at the Board’s headquarters.
He explained that all participants for the mass wedding have undergone screening and selection.
Beyond the wedding support, the Board will also issue financial assistance to 200 women running small businesses to help strengthen and grow their income.
According to Balarabe, 100 women who recently completed a three-week poultry farming training will be given starter kits to launch their operations.
He also noted that the Board is making provisions to clear selected debt cases in Shari’ah Courts and correctional facilities across the state.
Additionally, some orphans who completed computer training will receive starter equipment during the event.
