Actress Tonto Dikeh declares freedom from 27-year smoking habit

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has revealed that struggled with smoking habit for 27 years.

The thespian said she started smoking at the age of 13 battled with alcohol, masturbation, and deep-seated anger for many years

She shared her testimony during a Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church, led by Pastor Jerry Eze.

Dikeh thanked God for delivering her from what she called long-standing struggles.

She said: “I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation too.”

The actress admitted she almost refrained from sharing her story publicly due to concerns about her image but ultimately chose honesty.

“The God that gave me the image is the same God that can take it away,” she explained.

Dikeh identified a turning point at the Ghana Prayer Conference, where she experienced a major spiritual shift that helped her confront the habits and emotional struggles.

She also spoke candidly about the anger that had negatively affected her relationships.

“An anger that destroyed my life. Everybody had to feel it.

“I am 40 years old, and I have never known peace until now. I am living in it,” she added.

She revealed that her smoking habit began due to exposure at home, explaining that her father smoked, and urged parents to be mindful of the habits their children pick up.

The actress further stated that the urges for cigarettes and alcohol have completely disappeared.

“My body does not ask for it. Today, it is broken,” she said, emphasizing the freedom she now experiences.

Pastor Eze prayed for Dikeh during the service and declared her free from her past struggles.

The actress later described herself on Instagram as “a living testimony of mercy,” sharing her story as an inspiration to others facing similar challenges.
