The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, has concluded plans to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor’s Political Adviser, Mr. Istifanus Nwansat, confirmed the development to journalists on Monday in Abuja.

He said the decision was driven by the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Nwansat said Muftwang’s move to the APC was considered the “least risky option” after assessing the political landscape, adding that the defection would also align Plateau’s governance trajectory with the policies of President Bola Tinubu.

“From our analysis of all available options, the safest decision with the least risk is to move into the APC. The governor believes it is reasonable as a leader to align his people with Mr. President,” Nwansat stated.

He further noted that despite Muftwang’s current membership of the PDP, the governor and his team recognise and appreciate President Tinubu’s efforts to stabilise governance and address national challenges.
