Nestlé Nigeria Plc has said that its infant formula products sold in the country are not part of the precautionary recall recently announced in some international markets.

In a statement issued Friday by Toju Egbebi, Corporate Affairs Manager, the company said that the recall only applied to specific batches distributed abroad and did not involve products manufactured or marketed locally.

Egbebi emphasized that all Nestlé infant formula brands available in Nigeria are duly registered with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and meet both local and international safety standards.

“We would like to reassure consumers that all SMA and NAN product ranges sold by Nestlé Nigeria are safe for consumption,” she said.

The company listed the following products as unaffected and safe for Nigerian consumers:

  • SMA Gold 1, SMA Gold 2, SMA Gold 3
  • NAN Optipro 1, NAN Optipro 2, NAN Optipro 3

Egbebi encouraged consumers to rely on verified information and contact Nestlé Nigeria or regulatory authorities for clarification whenever in doubt.
