Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus has dismissed suggestions that she uses government funds to purchase luxury items.
Badmus, who currently serves as Special Assistant on Social Events and Public Hearing to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, addressed the claim after a video surfaced online showing Funke Akindele jokingly accusing her of spending public funds on jewellery and designer bags.
In the clip shared on Sunday, Akindele teased, “You used all the government money to buy jewellery.”
Responding to the comment, Badmus firmly stated that her wealth comes solely from her personal income and not from any government source.
She stressed that all her accessories are locally made and purchased with her own money.
“Your money isn’t in my hands, please. I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Badmus replied. “Everything I’m wearing is locally made. I used my own money to buy them.”
Her response has since sparked conversation online, with many fans weighing in on the exchange between the two actresses, which was largely viewed as light-hearted but touched on sensitive issues surrounding public office and accountability.
