Nigerian singer Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has revealed that he is currently in a polygamous relationship following the end of his marriage to Alexer Peres.
The singer and Alexer parted ways in 2024 after three years of marriage, amid a highly publicised and contentious split. At the time, Harrysong alleged that his wife became pregnant for another man while they were still living together, claiming they had not been intimate for more than a year.
Alexer, however, denied the infidelity allegations and countered with claims of domestic violence, further accusing the singer of cheating on their wedding night.
Speaking in an interview with Yanga FM Lagos on Tuesday, Harrysong said he has since moved on and is now involved with multiple partners who are fully aware of one another. According to him, the arrangement is built on openness and mutual respect.
The Reggae Blues crooner disclosed that some of his current partners are foreigners, including an American, stressing that all of them are being treated fairly and respectfully.
Defending his lifestyle choice, Harrysong insisted that there is nothing wrong with polygamous relationships, adding that similar arrangements exist elsewhere. He pointed to American singer Ne-Yo as an example, noting that the R&B star reportedly has three wives.
He said, “I am currently in a polygamous relationship. Every one of his current girlfriends is acquainted with all the others. They are all doing well. And we are happy.
“Everybody is being treated right and respectfully. Everyone is willing to join. No one was forced. Neyo has three wives. Just do whatever makes you happy. So don’t force your opinion on anyone.”
