Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, remains in detention as his first wife, Omobewaji, has given birth to a baby.

The development comes barely five days after the artiste was remanded in custody over a nine-count criminal charge. Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State.

The presiding judge declined to grant him bail, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted by the singer. The case was subsequently adjourned, with bail consideration fixed for January 19, 2026.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Omobewaji reportedly delivered a healthy baby while Portable remains in prison. Sources close to the family said the singer has been informed of the birth and received the news with excitement, expressing eagerness to secure bail so he can meet his child for the first time.

Meanwhile, actress and filmmaker Akinyanju Omobolarinde, also known as Ashabi Simple, who is described as Portable’s fourth baby mama, has confirmed that the singer is facing legal proceedings following a complaint she lodged with authorities.

Omobolarinde, in a chat with newsmen, said that she was unwilling to discuss details of the case, noting that the matter is now before the court. She stressed that her focus is currently on her mental well-being.

“He has been detained, and the matter is in court now,” she said. “I’m just taking care of my mental health.”

Portable’s legal troubles continue to attract public attention, with developments in both his personal life and court case unfolding simultaneously.
