Portable remained in detention after the court declined to grant him bail due to the absence of the police officer handling the case.
Following his release, a video that has since gone viral showed the singer being warmly received by associates who gathered to celebrate his return. In the clip, Portable jokingly adopted a new nickname, saying, “My name is now Innocenty,” as supporters cheered.
Reacting to the development, Portable’s manager, Baby Luv, took to Instagram to thank the singer’s first wife, Bewaji, for her unwavering support during the period of detention.
Sharing a photo of Portable with Bewaji, she wrote, “All glory to God. Grace spoke, and mercy prevailed. #Freedom. She stayed when it was hardest. God honoured her faith. #Thankful.”
Portable’s latest release adds to a long history of run-ins with law enforcement. Since rising to prominence in 2022, the singer has been arrested, arraigned and remanded on several occasions, reportedly more than eight times, across correctional facilities in Kwara, Ogun and Lagos states.
