Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has labeled the Igbo ethnic group as people who love money and political power so much that they are easily bought and manipulated.
Fayose who made the remarks in a video he shared on his social media platforms on Tuesday, said he is happy he is not an Igbo man as they are easily bought due to their love for money.
He added that the average Igbo man readily follows those in authority once money and power are involved, alleging that they abandoned the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, once they were offered money and political power.
Speaking in pidgin English, Fayose said:
“Thank God say I no be Igbo by tribe. That tribe, they are so easy to buy. You just hold money and power, they will follow you like puppy dog.
“Una don forget Nnamdi Kanu for Sokoto prison. But our own Yoruba Igboho Oosa don come. They don clear him and all his sins are forgiven. Now he’s going to take royal title from Ile Ife, but your own Nnamdi Kanu dey Sokoto,” Fayose added.
Fayose also mocked what he described as the public display of political loyalty to President Bola Tinubu by some Igbo supporters, referring to the wearing of political campaign materials.
“All of you come dey wear him mandate cap. What a tribe!!”
