A member of the House of Representatives representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Ojotu Ojema, has boldly stated that very soon, only registered members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will get employment and admission opportunities under the present administration.
Ojema who was elected into the National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 before defecting to the APC in 2025, made the claims while speaking to members of the National Association of Agatu Students who paid him a courtesy call on Saturday.
He advised constituents to join the APC and obtain their membership cards as that will soon be the yardstick to get anything from the present administration.
According to Ojema, political affiliation would soon play a role in determining who benefits from upcoming government programmes and interventions.
“The party that is good for us in Agatu, the one that will carry me along and help our people here, is All Progressives Congress,” the lawmaker said.
He continued “If you know it is not just about politics but about opportunities, get your APC card and be a member. Only those with APC membership cards will get jobs, admission into schools, or be able to do anything in Nigeria soonest.
“Go and collect it, because tomorrow when you are looking for admission into a school, remember that the president of this country belongs to APC.
“We have 36 states plus the FCT, making 37. About 30 governors are already in APC, plus the FCT, making 31, and more are still joining. So follow APC.
Switching to his native mother tongue, he stated “If you are not in APC and job opportunities come, nobody may consider you if your NIN is not registered with APC. You may lose the opportunity. Don’t let anybody deceive you — follow APC,” the lawmaker said.
The lawmaker also cautioned residents against being misled, urging people in his constituency to identify with the ruling party as a way of improving their chances of benefitting from government-backed initiatives and socio-economic programmes.
