The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has resigned from the position.
The deputy governor’s media aide, Ibrahim Shuaibu, confirmed the news to journalists on Friday in Kano.
He was however silent on what led to his principal’s exit from the state government.
Gwarzo has been under pressure from the State House of Assembly to leave the seat over his refusal to follow Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for APC in February.
He was followed to the ruling party by Assembly members and members of the state executive council.
