Niger Delta women plans peaceful rally for Akpabio

Women from Niger Delta region has concluded plans to stage a peaceful rally to celebrate the efforts of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio over what they described as unprecedented records of development in the region within the few months of Akpabio as the minister supervising the affairs of his ministry of Niger delta, as well as the infrastructural development in NDDC.
According to the organisers of the rally, Dr. (Mrs) Williams Princewill and Hon Vero adaora, the women of the region are mobilising women in different states of the region including the professionals, women in politics, market women, women ministers forum, Niger Delta women associations and other stakeholders to rise and support the Akpabio in view of the uncommon changes that has taken place in the Niger Delta region.
They said it would not be right to see what God is using the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs to achieved and kept quiet, and allow the enemies to frustrate his efforts.
They equally commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Akpabio to head the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, especially at this point in time.
According to the leader of the Igbo women for Buhari’s support group, Akpabio is a detrabilised Nigerian whose eyes is set on performance and service delivery.
She said the women must come together in support of Mr. president for the development of the region, adding that
Akpabio should be commended for pushing for the completion of the East-West Road abandoned by several administrations in the past.
In the same vein a strong woman leader commended the Niger Delta women for the idea of planning the peaceful rally to support Akpabio.
She said Akpabio as a governor transformed Akwa Ibom State during his eight years in office, adding that Nigerians and Niger Delta region will enjoy what the good people of the state enjoyed during Akpabio’s years as governor.
“Today the NDDC building is completed, infrastructural development is picking up, jobs and business are booming, crime rates and pipeline vandalisations and other social vices Is reducing because Akpabio is engaging the youths across the region in constructions, educational activities, and supporting the region through NDDC with medicals in this COVID-19. Therefore, women must rise against blackmail and support the fight against corruption for the interest of the people,” she said.
