Is Nigerian ace singer, Davido, the reason CBN placed a ban on Bitcoin business in Nigeria? That is the trending topic on the lips of millions of his followers as news of banning of Cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria spread on Friday like a wildfire.

It is recalled that just two days ago, Davido made his idea about starting a Crypto company wide open to the whole world after he made tweet about the plan.

He had tweeted about his intention to start a bitcoin trading company, making him the latest African celebrity to express interest in starting a crypto business after Senegalese singer, Akon.

Well, with the latest CBN policy for all banks, it seems the hope of Davido becoming a Crypto company CEO has just been dashed.

The singer has, however, taken to his Twitter page to air his view about the policy enacted by the CBN, calming his fans to “Let’s see o”.

Before announcing the decision to officially go into the Bitcoin trade, Davido had first revealed in October 2020 that he had entered into a partnership with Bitsika, a Ghana-based crypto payment firm, with his more than eight million followers on Twitter and Instagram, to promote the crypto firm’s app.

The latest CBN policy is, no doubt, a hit on Crypto influencers in Nigeria, considering Davido’s millions of followers on different channels as against their little over 40,000 followers.
