Wema Bank Plc says it has, in partnership with SheCan Nigeria, empowered 1,000 women through a skills acquisition programme in order to help women achieve their personal and business potential.
According to a statement by the bank, the programme was held on Wednesday following the SheCan Conference 2021 held in Lagos.
The Head of Gender Banking, Abiola Nejo, said, “A major takeaway from the programme was to help every woman realise that she can do more irrespective of her background, gender, education, and career.
“Wema Bank will continually partner with women-focused initiatives like SheCan Nigeria to empower adolescent girls and women through strategic training, mentoring, counselling, skill acquisition and community empowerment programmes.”
The statement said the programme had 1,000 women benefit from vocational training exercises designed to equip them with basic skills that could help boost their financial status.
