In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to create one million digital jobs, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) partners with Coursera for Cohort 3 of transformative professional courses. This initiative aims to combat youth unemployment, standing at 19.6% in 2021, by training 8000 Nigerian learners annually.

Why Coursera?

NITDA and Coursera’s collaboration, launched on October 19, 2022, introduces learners to world-class educational content from top universities and industry leaders like Yale, Meta, Google, and IBM. This strategic partnership is Coursera’s first government collaboration in Nigeria.

Empowering Nigerian Talents

Coursera’s Professional Certificates, now accessible to Nigerian learners, provide skills for high-growth careers, including Data Analytics, Social Media Marketing, and Software Development. As the Nigerian labor market anticipates the creation of 3 million digital jobs in the next four years, these courses position learners for success.

Proven Success of Cohorts 1 and 2

Cohorts 1 and 2 witnessed 8000 graduates, comprising students, government workers, entrepreneurs, and academics. With a staggering 43,745 enrollments and an average rating of 4.8/5.0, it’s clear that Nigerians are enthusiastic about digital up-skilling on the Coursera platform.
