Aligned with its commitment to strategic partnerships and collaboration to propel Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, emphasized the imperative of collaboration to harness the best solutions from collective ideas, experiences, insights, and shared knowledge necessary for the country’s development.
Inuwa made these remarks while hosting participants of the 2024 Senior Executive Course 46, who embarked on a strategic tour to study the Agency’s operations in advancing the Digital Economy, in line with the present administration’s Agenda. The delegation, led by Brigadier General Abdulrahman Idris, sought to understand how digital innovation can drive economic growth and job creation, ultimately attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
Highlighting the significance of collaboration between NITDA and NIPSS, Inuwa emphasized the importance of leveraging technology and digital innovation to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities, thereby enhancing the living standards of citizens across the country.
“At NITDA, we have embarked on a journey of reimagining and reinventing our social contract with Nigerians and the ecosystem. This led to the refinement of the Agency’s mission and vision to improve service delivery and foster rapid growth in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. It’s imperative that our core values reflect our commitment to serving Nigerians,” he remarked.
Providing insights into NITDA’s strategic direction, Inuwa outlined the agency’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2024-2027) 2.0, structured around eight pillars aimed at fostering digital literacy, nurturing talent, building robust technology research ecosystems, strengthening policy frameworks, promoting inclusive access to digital infrastructure and services, enhancing cybersecurity and digital trust, nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship, forging strategic partnerships, and cultivating a vibrant organizational culture.
Brigadier General Idris, in his remarks, highlighted the pivotal role of NIPSS as Nigeria’s foremost policy think-tank, tasked with developing top-class technocrats capable of conceptualizing and implementing innovative policy initiatives critical for national development. He underscored the administration’s directive to address issues related to the digital economy, with NITDA being a critical stakeholder in this endeavor, thus informing their visit to the Agency.
