Women in business are unstoppable when given the right tools.
That’s the goal of “IgniteHer,” a five-day entrepreneurship bootcamp launched in Abuja by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
This initiative is more than just a training program, it’s a movement toward economic inclusion, digital empowerment, and business innovation for women entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
Speaking at the launch, NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, CCIE, represented by Mrs. Iklima Musa, emphasized the critical role of empowering women in business.
“As we celebrate the globally recognized International Women’s Day/month, we are reminded that empowering women is not just about equity, it is about unlocking the full potential of our societies.”
The bootcamp aligns perfectly with this vision, providing women with business fundamentals, scaling strategies, sustainability practices, and digital literacy skills.
Despite their immense potential, many women entrepreneurs face hurdles like limited access to financial resources and digital skills.
This program directly addresses these challenges, equipping participants with the tools to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
“Women shape our world, drive innovation, foster inclusivity, and inspire future generations,” Inuwa noted, reinforcing the bootcamp’s mission to empower women entrepreneurs for long-term success.
A Partnership for Impact
JICA’s Nao Fuwa expressed excitement about the collaboration, calling it “a great opportunity for women.”
He encouraged participants to engage fully, ask questions, and embrace the learning experience.
“This event will not only shape you but will shape the vision of Nigeria’s economy,” Fuwa stated, highlighting the broader impact of the initiative.
“IgniteHer” isn’t just about training, it’s about creating lasting change. By breaking down barriers and fostering a more inclusive and equitable digital economy, this program is setting the stage for a future where women-owned businesses thrive.
The future belongs to those who dare to dream, innovate, and take bold steps. And for these women entrepreneurs, that future starts now.
