A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has expressed confidence that the party would win the 2027 presidential election.
He boasted that the party would form Nigeria’s next government and “send President Bola Tinubu back to Bourdillon.”
Okonkwo, who featured on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, said the ADC is well-positioned to contest all future elections, particularly under the leadership of former Senate President, David Mark.
He said: “In 2027, we stand a chance in every election in Nigeria.
“The true test of the ADC will be in 2027. We are going to form the next government in Nigeria and send Tinubu to Bourdillon.”
Commenting on the party’s structure, the actor-turned-politician stated that the ADC has active representation across all 36 states of the federation.
He also described former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi as one of the party’s prominent leaders in Rivers State and the South-South.
“The ADC exists in all 36 states. Rotimi Amaechi is naturally one of the prominent leaders of ADC in Rivers State and the South-South, so it would not be out of place to describe him as the leader of the ADC in Rivers State,” he added.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on September 10, formally recognised the Mark-led leadership of the ADC following internal reforms that produced new national officers to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Under the new structure, Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State, was listed by INEC as the party’s National Secretary.
