Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels has become the butt of jokes and mockery on social media after she revealed that she has been suffering domestic violence in the hands of her husband, Sen. Ned Nwoko.
A disturbing video had emerged on Saturday showing Regina crying out over what she described as the incessant beatings she has been receiving from her lawmaker husband.
In the video which quickly went viral, Regina was seen shouting and lamenting about the battery she has had to endure in her marriage to the Delta State senator.
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing but in my house I am a queen. I cannot stand the violence again. It is too much,” Regina was heard crying out.
Before Regina’s video, a Mollywood movie producer, Stanley On-Top, had earlier shared a video online where he claimed that after beating Regina, Nwoko had allegedly sent thugs to her house but her brothers were present to defend her.
However, the trouble the star actress seems to be having in her marriage brought out mixed reactions as some of her fans quickly rose in her defence warning the senator that they would take it personal if anything should happen to her.
But some were not so patronizing as they dug up one of her old comments after Nigerians raised eyebrows when she was getting married to the lawmaker some years ago.
Nigerians were thrown into shock when Regina who was just 18 years at the time, got married to Nwoko who was in his 60s and had about four wives then.
When some of her fans accused her of marrying the senator because of his wealth, Regina had reportedly said:
“I would rather cry inside a Lamborghini than laugh in a Keke (Tricycle)”, an allusion that she would rather prefer suffering in a home of affluence to living with a struggling man even if he would make her happy.
So when her video lamenting about the ordeals she has been facing in her marriage, many social media users were quick to remind her of her famous comments.
Regina’s colleague in the movie industry, Angela Okorie whom she has been having a running battle after she accused her of sleeping with her husband, took to her Instagram story to write:
“Nigerians na me dem beat for Ferrari and private jet house with 8 wives? Why una dey tag me kwanu. Oh chim Angelaaaaaa.”
She followed up with another post saying:
“Ojukokoro is bad! God is good, somebody say all the time.!”
X (formally Twitter) has also been on fire since Regina’s video with many comments recalling her Lamborghini statement.
