Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has once again stirred the relationship pot—this time declaring that monogamy isn’t for everyone and that he personally wouldn’t mind an open marriage.

The talented lyricist, who made the disclosure in a recent interview on the In My Opinion Podcast, which was aired on Tuesday night, explained that he doesn’t believe humans were designed to stick with just one partner forever. According to him, people should be free to define what love and commitment mean in their relationships.

“It’s unrealistic to expect married couples to maintain the same level of passion they shared at the beginning of their relationship,” said Blaqbonez, who explored how closeness changes in long-term marriages and why he thinks embracing freedom could help couples stay together.

“Most married couples, you don’t keep having the same amount of bedroom activities you were having at the beginning. It will reduce,” the musician added.

Given his hectic schedule as an itinerant artiste, he further contended that it’s okay for his partner to go for physical fulfillment elsewhere when he’s not accessible.

“If somebody is satisfying her in the bedroom while I’m hustling, touring, I’m not available to be getting close with her all the time—that is okay. There’s more to marriage than bedroom activities.” He explained.
