A hit-and-run articulated truck has killed a varsity lecturer in Kogi State.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr. Tenimu Etuku, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday in Lokoja.
He said the deceased, identified as Mrs. Emmanuel, was a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts, Federal University Lokoja (FUL).
Etuku said the accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday when the lecturer fell off a commercial motorcycle in Lokoja.
”After she fell, a truck hit her on the highway at Crusher in Lokoja metropolis.
“When the accident happened, our rescue operation team responded timely and quickly rushed the victim to Kogi State Specialist Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
“The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital mortuary, ” the FRSC official stated.
