The Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emperor Jarret Tenebe, has stated that members of the party in the state do not argue as far as carrying out orders from Governor Monday Okpebholo is concerned.
Tenebe who made the claims during the one year anniversary of the governor in Benin City on Tuesday, proudly said the APC members are like vehicles “no break, no gear, no sense” but to do whatever the governor wants them to do
While still addressing the audience, Tenebe said the governor had promised President Bola Tinubu to deliver 3.5 million votes for him in 2027 and that the promise has already been sealed.
However, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the total number of registered voters in Edo State stands at 2.2 million, leading many to wonder how Okpebholo and Tenebe will conjure the remaining 1.3 million votes to make up the 3.5 million they have promised Tinubu.
“In a trending video footage, Tenebe is heard saying:
“Edo State is a state that has already settled everything for our President. I want to let the city boys know that our loyalty to our governor is of no break, no gear, no sense.
“The explanation is this: anything the governor tells us to do, we cannot argue because he has all the special advisers, all the special assistants that will tell him, we as a party, we have no sense when we are with him.
“No break meaning that if he sends us on an errand, we have no break anymore, no gear. If you have ever seen a vehicle, most especially a truck that has no gear and is descending, you know how deadly such a vehicle can be.
“That’s what we are as a party in this state. Because we have no sense, the governor has already told us that 3.5 million votes for President Tinubu must be guaranteed and it’s already settled.
“So I want to tell all of you, before you even came, before the minister even told us all that the president has been doing for this nation, we don’t even want to hear because we have no break, we have no gear, we have no sense. 3.5 million votes is guaranteed for the president for 2027…”
