Africa’s biggest football festival will begin with a powerful dose of music as Afrobeats superstar Davido and US rap heavyweight French Montana headline the opening concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The official kick-off concert will be held in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday before the first ball is kicked, setting the tone for a month-long celebration of football, culture and entertainment.
Davido’s appearance adds major star power to the event, reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s most globally recognised music exports. The Nigerian hitmaker is expected to deliver a high-energy performance featuring some of his biggest international hits.
American rapper French Montana will also take the stage, bringing a global hip-hop presence to the AFCON curtain-raiser and underscoring the tournament’s growing international appeal.
The opening concert is designed to showcase Africa’s creative excellence, blending music, culture and sport for a worldwide audience ahead of the tournament’s kickoff.
Morocco, hosting AFCON for the first time since 1988, is aiming for a spectacular opening that reflects the scale and prestige of the competition.
AFCON 2025 will bring together Africa’s top national teams, millions of fans and global broadcasters, with the opening concert serving as the first major highlight of the tournament.
