Residents of Ikoyi-Ile in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, have revealed that terrorists now resort to writing letters to the people whenever they want to launch attacks on the communities.
A resident of one of the affected communities who revealed this in a tweet on X on Sunday, said the development has thrown the people into a state of fear and called on security agencies to be proactive in preventing the terrorists from invading their community.
According to the resident, the anxiety in the town intensified after the terrorists dropped handwritten letters warning residents of a planned attack scheduled for Tuesday, January 20.
The X user with the handle @OurFavOnlineDoc, wrote:
“Dear @PoliceNG @OfficialDSSNG @HQNigerianArmy, this is a very urgent call for help.
“Terrorists have written two letters to the people of Ikoyi-Ile in Oriire LGA of Oyo State triggering fear and anguish in the citizens of the community.
“The terrorists are threatening a fresh attack on the community, accusing the residents of disobedience and refusal to pay levies and taxes imposed on them by the terrorists.
“According to many reports, the threats are dated to be carried out on Tuesday, January 20 have triggered panic and forced some residents to flee as local leaders urgently appeal for security intervention. Pls help share for the police/army to act.”
