Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to lead Nigeria’s delegation at the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, holding from January 19 to 23, 2026.
This year marks a milestone in Nigeria’s participation, with the Federal Government unveiling “Nigeria House Davos,” a sovereign pavilion on the Davos Promenade designed to host ministerial engagements, investment roundtables, and cultural diplomacy.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, said Nigeria would use the platform to highlight President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms. “We will be showcasing four playbooks on President Tinubu’s efforts in re-engineering the Nigerian economy,” she explained. “We will present our solid minerals sector, climate sustainability, agriculture, and creative and digital sectors to investors from all over the world.”
Shettima is expected to present Nigeria’s 2026 economic outlook to global leaders and participate in plenary sessions on artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology. He will also hold bilateral meetings with heads of state, multinational executives, and leaders of international finance institutions.
The World Economic Forum’s annual meeting attracts thousands of participants, including presidents, CEOs, civil society leaders, and journalists. The 2026 edition is focused on global economic challenges, technological innovation, and climate action.
