- Postpone your journey not so crucial abroad after the lockdown is over
- Include men of God in COVID -19 committee
In what seems as light at the end of the tunnel, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, said that the journey to normalcy has started as regard compulsory lock down imposed on nations and economic activities due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the man of God, the journey to normalcy might not be very rapid but gradual and it would be steady.
Speaking on a Special Sunday Service’s broadcast live on Dove Television, Adeboye,who is known called “Daddy G. O.” by his numerous followers and admirers, told viewers all over the world that their pastors would return to their normal duty very soon.
” I have good news for us. I believe that the return journey has started. I am believing God that your pastors will soon return to normal duty. Maybe at most, probably I will spend one Sunday with you after which the pastors will be back to duties in Jesus’ name,” he said.
The man of God also warned members and followers to postpone all journey abroad that is not so crucial, even after the lockdown is gone.
Adeboye said:” May I also add this one. Even after the lock down is gone, any journey abroad that is not very crucial, postpone it because God is going to give us victory here; in Nigeria, in Africa even before it extends to the rest of the world.
“So I would advise you, unless it’s very essential, may be for the next one month or two, you suspend all the jumping up and down until everything is completely save again.”
To the authority, the general overseer of RCCG suggested to governments at all levels to also include men of God in their committee in the fight against the pandemic in the future.
“I will humbly suggest in Nigeria, maybe in the future to include in their committee men of God. I am not talking of small boy like myself. I am talking of some chief Immams and arcbishops so that they can help them with the spiritual aspect of this warfare,” Adeboye said.
He also warned on the need to give God the glory for victory over coronavirus in order not to have a relapse of the scourge.
While thanking God on behalf of government for all efforts it has made, Adeboye said the authority has done creditably well ” because they have to deal with a situation they have never seen before now.”
Daddy G. O. pointed out that people should admit that it wasn’t their wisdom, ability and planning that have given them whatever victory they already got.
He said: “We need to return glory to God because as the elders will say, the rain can send you into thesame hut. We need to really give all the glory to God because we don’t want the victory so far to be reversed.
“If you asked any doctor, he will tell you that most difficult type of cancer to handle is the cancer that relapses. We don’t want a relapse of this scourge, and may I please remind all of us like I said in the beginning, this coronavirus will recede, but don’t let anybody deceive you, it is not going to disappear 100 per cent.”
In his message titled “Joy Commeth” with the Bible reading taking from Psalm 30:5. Adeboye said apart from the fact that Easter signified new beginning, it also meant that joy is coming.
According to him, joy must come because after every night, there would be a day.
Citing biblical examples, Adeboye explained to members that their joy could come in four ways namely : Physical, material, spiritual and marital.
He told them to have faith in God, saying that death, poverty, darkness and barrenness did not have the final say but the rising Christ who can turn any situation around miraculously.
