Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has recently placed his commendation on the noble ongoing ICT initiative of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC across the six geo-political zones in the country.
According to the Governor, the initiative will in no distant future, trigger the socio-economic transformation of the country particularly the South-West following the increased digital access for fast-tracking digital innovation.
He mentioned that there’s a lot more socio-economic transformation to be expected through ICT in Nigeria following the vigorous effort of the NCC towards such a major project which does resonate with the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).
While applauding the quality of the project so far, the Governor also expressed gratitude to Prof. Danbatta and his team for bringing such development to the state and the country at large.
As a move by the current leadership of the Nigerian Communications Commission to boost youth digital skills acquisition, promote innovation and provide jobs for Nigerian youths, the Information Communication Technology Park initiative of the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, is to provide innovation labs and digital fabrication labs and digital commercial hubs for the use of ICT innovators and entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into products and prototypes.
The purpose of the initiative according to, Danbatta, is to further support the overall digital economy agenda of the federal government by facilitating the availability and accessibility of ICT services across the country, promote their usage across all sectors and ultimately address youth unemployment in the country.
More so, he stated that no part of the country will be left out as a beneficiary of the initiative. Danbatta also urged potential beneficiaries of the project to prepare to leverage the facilities about to be made available for their social and economic empowerment.
