Award-winning Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has opened up about his journey into fatherhood, declaring that no level of fame or success will ever come before his family.
In a heartfelt revelation, the “Orente” crooner said that being a father has reshaped his priorities, teaching him to value presence over popularity and purpose over pressure.
While speaking on a fresh episode of the NotJuskOk Podcast, which was aired on Friday, Adekunle Gold reflected on how marriage and fatherhood transformed his outlook on life.
He disclosed that giving his daughter a better life than he had as a child is his top priority. The artist went on to say that his commitment to being a responsible and present father served as the inspiration for the song “My Love Is The Same.”
The musician said; “All I wanted is to do more for my own daughter because I can’t afford to bring her into the kind of life I grew up living. It has to be way better. My family is my centre. I can afford to be a failed musician, not a failed father or man. That’s not negotiable.”
