The Senate on Friday fixed March 17 for final consideration and passage of the N58.4 trillion 2026 budget.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Solomon Adeola, said at a special session held in Abuja on Friday that February 2 to February 13 has been fixed for consideration of the budget estimates at committee levels.
He said public hearing on the budget proposal would take place on February 19.
According to Adeola, a Professor of Economics from University of Lagos, Wasiu Adeoye, will make a power-point presentation at the public hearing on the budget.
“Budget hearing and engagement with MDAs starts on Monday, February 2 to Friday, February 13, where all sub-committee chairmen will invite all their relevant MDAs for discussion and presentation,” he stated.
