The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday adjourned the judgment in a suit filed by a member of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership till Tuesday.
Abejide is seeking an order restraining a former Senate President, David Mark and ex-Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola from parading themselves as ADC’s national chairman and national secretary respectively.
The lawmaker had in the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1637/2025, filed on February 15, listed ADC, Ralph Nwosu, Mark, Aregbesola and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants respectively.
Nwosu was the former national chairman of ADC who stepped down for Mark.
The plaintiff sought an order nullifying Nwosu’s handover or transfer of ADC’s leadership to Mark and Aregbesola as interim national chairman and interim national secretary respectively on July 2, 2025, among other reliefs.
The suit slated for judgment before Justice Musa Liman today, did not proceed because the judge was said to be away on another official engagement.
Justice Liman had on Friday fixed Monday for judgment on the matter.
The judge fixed the date after Abejide’s counsel, Ibrahim Idris (SAN), and lawyers to the defence adopted their processes on the suit.
