Arsenal have clinched a spot in the UEFA Champions League final after beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the second leg of their semifinal tie at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
Having drawn 1-1 from the first leg in Spain, the Gunners needed a win to scale, and a 44th-minute goal by Bukayo Saka was more than enough for the team.
Arsenal have now reached the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years, since their meeting with Barcelona in 2006 final.
With the win, a Champions League and Premier League double remains a possibility for the Mikel Arteta side.
Recall that Arsenal crashed out in the semi-finals to eventual winners Paris-St Germain last season, but Saka’s goal ensured there was no repeat of that exit at the same stage.
Arsenal will now face either Bayern Munich or defending champions Paris Saint Germain in the final on May 30.
